People love Glocks. There is a good reason why many Special Forces operators around the world use Glocks. Basically, they’re good, sturdy guns. In the civilian sector, Glocks are popular for another reason: customizability. One of the most popular customization options seems to be replacing the slide. Whether you want to port the slide and barrel, or you just want it machined to look special, there are options for everyone. One of the top slide replacements today, and the one we’ll be talking about in this blog, is the Voodoo Innovations Enforcer.
Why the VDI Enforcer is a Great Choice
Ease of use
The VDI Enforcer excels in many categories. First being ease. The Enforcer is a complete drop-in assembly. Right out of the box the VDI Enforcer slides straight onto the frame of the Glock. We were able to get it on with no hassle; the way it should be. After placing the Enforcer on the Glock, our attention was drawn to the enhanced serrations on the front and rear of the gun. VDI designed and machined these serrations with improved manipulation in mind. These improved serrations offer a superior non-slip grip for racking the slide and making press checks. There were no issues operating the slide, and the serrations were not uncomfortable, or hard on our hands. The slide is compatible with all Glock frames with an adapter (that’s included in the box) for use on the Gen 4 Frame. Easy as pie.
Quality Build
Secondly, the VDI Enforcer excels in quality. The slide is cut from 416R Chromium Stainless Steel. The barrel has a SAAMI (Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers’ Institute) Spec 9mm Match chambering and can be used for all 9mm projectiles. Added to the barrel is a 1/2 x 28 TPI for use with any 9mm suppressor or compensator. So you don’t have to get a new suppressor, the VDI will work with the 9mm barrel accessory you already have. VDI also provides three different springs to cater to different shooting functions: green is the standard spring, yellow is 5% lighter for subsonic ammunition, and the red spring is 5% stronger for +P ammunition. Having that flexibility available is awesome. On top of it all, VDI coats the slide in a PVD Coating to increase lifespan and dramatically resist corrosion and scratching.
Shooting
Lastly, but surely not least, the VDI Enforcer excels at shooting. The barrel’s tighter tolerance creates better accuracy. Adding to that, the barrel has a 1:16 twist which provides a more consistent accuracy throughout the range of grains for 9mm. It really excels when shooting the heavier, subsonic 147 grain bullets because it offers more stabilization; the stabilization in turn creates better accuracy and range than the standard 1:10 twist. The sights are the basic Dot Sights from XS Sights, which are great for quick target acquisition. For those of you who like a little more oomph and pizazz with your sights, the slide includes a Micro Red Dot Relief Cut which options include: the Trijicon RMR; Vortex Razor, Venom, and Viper; Leopold Deltapoint Pro; Burris Fastfire 3; EOTech MRDS. That’s like an all you can eat Buffet of options.
Shooting the Enforcer added a new layer of accuracy, control, and a lot of fun to the Glock. VDI says that the Enforcer is 8% lighter and that makes for better control of the gun. After handling it, we have to agree with their assessment. We were very pleased with the performance of the Enforcer. We think that it would make for a great addition to any shooter’s armory, and would really excel in competitions and when used with suppressors. So if your looking for a new way to shoot your Glock, check out the VDI Enforcer.
